Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Personal data (usually referred to just as “data” below) will only be processed by us to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its contents, and the services offered there.

Per Art. 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as the “GDPR”), “processing” refers to any operation or set of operations such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation, alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination, or otherwise making available, alignment, or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction performed on personal data, whether by automated means or not.

The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of such data either under our own control or in conjunction with others. We also inform you below about the third-party components we use to optimize our website and improve the user experience which may result in said third parties also processing data they collect and control.

Our privacy policy is structured as follows:

I. Information about us as controllers of your data
II. The rights of users and data subjects
III. Information about the data processing

I. Information about us as controllers of your data

The party responsible for this website (the “controller”) for purposes of data protection law is:

Markus Green
Müllerstr. 132
13349 Berlin

Telephone: +49 1737260428
Email: hello@stressfreehomeoffice.com

II. The rights of users and data subjects

With regard to the data processing to be described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right

  • to confirmation of whether data concerning them is being processed, information about the data being processed, further information about the nature of the data processing, and copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);
  • to correct or complete incorrect or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);
  • to the immediate deletion of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 DSGVO), or, alternatively, if further processing is necessary as stipulated in Art. 17 Para. 3 GDPR, to restrict said processing per Art. 18 GDPR;
  • to receive copies of the data concerning them and/or provided by them and to have the same transmitted to other providers/controllers (cf. also Art. 20 GDPR);
  • to withdraw any consent given at any time, with future effect, per Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR — for example by using the “Cookie Settings” link in the site footer to change your analytics choice, or by contacting us directly for any other consent-based processing;
  • to file complaints with the supervisory authority if they believe that data concerning them is being processed by the controller in breach of data protection provisions (see also Art. 77 GDPR).

In addition, the controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it discloses data of any such corrections, deletions, or restrictions placed on processing the same per Art. 16, 17 Para. 1, 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, users have a right to information about these recipients.

Likewise, under Art. 21 GDPR, users and data subjects have the right to object to the controller’s future processing of their data pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

III. Information about the data processing

Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, provided the deletion of the same is not in breach of any statutory storage obligations or unless otherwise stipulated below.

Server data

For technical reasons, the following data sent by your internet browser to us or to our server provider will be collected, especially to ensure a secure and stable website: These server log files record the type and version of your browser, operating system, the website from which you came (referrer URL), the webpages on our site visited, the date and time of your visit, as well as the IP address from which you visited our site.

The data thus collected will be temporarily stored, but not in association with any other of your data.

The basis for this storage is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality, and security of our website.

The data will be deleted within no more than seven days, unless continued storage is required for evidentiary purposes. In which case, all or part of the data will be excluded from deletion until the investigation of the relevant incident is finally resolved.

This website does not set any cookies or use any browser storage before you make a choice, with one narrow exception: once you accept or reject analytics below, we save that choice in your browser (localStorage, not a cookie) so we don’t ask again on your next visit. This is considered strictly necessary under Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR — remembering your own preference doesn’t require separate consent.

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you’ll allow Google Analytics 4. If you decline, or simply close the banner without choosing, nothing beyond the strictly-necessary storage above happens — no analytics script loads, no analytics cookie is set. If you accept, Google Analytics loads and sets its own cookies, described below. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics is provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”), and is only loaded if you accept it via the consent banner. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish visitors and sessions. These persist for up to 2 years unless you clear them or withdraw consent sooner. Data collected includes pages visited, time on site, referring site, approximate location, and device/browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses; the IP is only used transiently to derive a coarse location and is discarded. Event-level data is retained in Google’s systems for 14 months before automatic deletion.

We use Google’s Consent Mode v2, which means Google only receives this data once you’ve actively accepted — nothing is transmitted in a “denied” state beyond an anonymous signal that consent wasn’t given.

Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (the current legal mechanism for transatlantic data transfers, which replaced the invalidated EU-US Privacy Shield in 2023), providing an approved basis for any processing that occurs in the United States. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for persistent opt-out across sites, independent of this site’s own consent banner.

Disabling cookies generally

You can refuse the use of cookies by changing the settings on your browser. Likewise, you can use the browser to delete cookies that have already been stored. The steps required vary by browser — consult your browser’s help documentation if you have questions. If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, not all of the functions on our site may be fully usable.

Contact

If you contact us via email or the contact form, the data you provide (name, email address, and message) will be used for the purpose of processing your request. We must have this data in order to process and answer your inquiry; otherwise we will not be able to answer it in full or at all. Submitting the contact form requires your active, separate consent, given via an unchecked checkbox you must tick yourself.

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) and b) GDPR.

Our contact form is processed by Formspree, Inc., a third-party form-processing service based in the United States. Formspree receives and stores the data you submit (name, email address, message) in order to deliver it to us. Because Formspree is a US-based processor, your data may be transferred outside the EU/EEA; Formspree’s data processing agreement and privacy practices are available at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy. We do not use Formspree for any purpose beyond receiving contact form submissions.

We retain contact form submissions for 12 months from the date of your inquiry, after which they are deleted or anonymized, unless a longer retention period is required to resolve an ongoing matter or comply with a legal obligation. You may request earlier deletion at any time by contacting us; this does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before your request.

Some articles on this site link to third-party products or services through affiliate programs. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Any post carrying such links displays a disclosure notice. We currently participate in:

  • SafetyWing (travel/nomad insurance) — links go to safetywing.com or through our own /NomadInsurance and /NomadComplete redirect paths.
  • Fiverr (freelance marketplace) — links go to go.fiverr.com or track.fiverr.com.
  • Squarespace (website builder) — links go through our own /Squarespace redirect path to squarespace.com, tracked via the Impact affiliate network.

Clicking any of these links takes you to the third party’s own website, where their own cookies, tracking, and privacy policy apply — not ours. We don’t receive or store any personal data from these clicks ourselves; the affiliate network (Impact, or the program’s own tracking) attributes the referral using a cookie or URL parameter set by the destination site once you land there, not by us. The legal basis for including these links is our legitimate interest in generating revenue to support running this site, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Review each program’s own privacy policy for details on their tracking:

Some older articles also link directly to products on Amazon — these are plain, non-affiliate links; we don’t earn a commission from them and Amazon doesn’t receive any referral attribution from us.
